Cydia Not Opening? Here’s What You Can Do

advertisements

What are the most frustrated things about Cydia? You may pick one from any of these problems: Cydia not opening; Cydia not loading after you downloaded it to your iDevices; Cydia is not working at all; Cydia keeps crashing and it won’t load. If any of the above mentioned things happen is not cool at all. We don’t want this to be happened and we hate to see it when it is happening. If you are having any of these problems with your Cydia, here’s what you can do to solve the problems significantly.

Cydia keeps crashing

Case 1: Cydia keeps crashing

It is normal to see Cydia keeps crashing after the jailbreak process. If there is an error message saying “x HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error”, it usually means your installation is incomplete. Something went wrong during the installation. Your Cydia will keep crashing even if you try to restart your device.

Solution: If you use some of the free method to download Cydia when you jailbreak it, perhaps you could re-jailbreak your iDevice and reinstall Cydia. That is the fastest and easiest way to solve this problem.

Case 2: Cydia not loading

It is common to see Cydia is not loading with the message “Unable to Load (the internet connection appears to be offline)”.

Solution: Check your internet connection and see if it is working properly. In some cases, Cydia is not able to load if you are connected to the internet using mobile data because the connection is too slow. Another possible reason for this issue is the time and date settings in your iDevice. You will have to make sure it is correct and it matches the server time. Although this may not be the issue but we do experienced it before.

Case 3: Cydia not working or Cydia not opening at all

Sometimes, Cydia won’t load, won’t work, or won’t be able to open at all even you try to reboot your iDevice. This is definitely frustrating especially when it keeps backing out every time you tap on the brown Cydia logo and try to launch it.

Solution: One reason this could be happened is there are too many connections to Cydia server when you try to download it. You may not be able to download Cydia completely although the screen shows you it is completely done. This is because the server receives heavy traffic and nobody can load Cydia or any other packages when the server is down. What you can do is to re-install Cydia itself through an SSH program or wait for a couple hours until the server is up. You can always download the latest Cydia deb file and install the latest version on your iDevices.

Case 4: Cydia is not loading the package you have just downloaded

You have just downloaded some packages and installed a few tweaks from Cydia but you can’t find them under Cydia -> Manage -> Packages -> Installed Tweaks. There are no icons appear at your home screen too.

Solution: First of all, do not panic. Things could be simpler than you think. Try to reboot or respring your device and see if the packages appear in the Installed Tweaks. If it doesn’t work, check and see how many Cydia sources you have in your iDevice. Cydia can’t show all packages if you have too many sources saved in your device. Try to remove some of the unused Cydia sources and reload the list of tweaks installed. It is going to work for sure.

None of the cases above matches yours? If you experience Cydia not opening or anything relate to this topic and you have found the solutions, why not share it here at the comment box below? It will help anyone with the same problem.

i just tried to jailbreak my iPod touch 5 running on iOS 9.0.2 and it always says the same message the first time: “Cannot open Cydia. Cydia could not be opened because the address of its main page is invalid.” it gives me 2 options: Close & Retry. Once I click Retry, it says a different message: “Cannot open Cydia. Cydia could not be opened because it could not connect to the server.” and leaves 2 options again: Close & Retry. After the first time of clicking retry, it keeps on giving me the same response: “Cannot Open Cydia. Cydia could not be opened because it could not connect to the server.” it says that every time I press retry again. If i press close at anytime, it just closes the app.
    Any Suggestions
    Thanks for the Help

I’m trying to go into Cydia to delete the application and when I open it it closes immediately again and again. I uninstalled the pp jail breaker on accident. I have tried resetting my phone, hard resetting it, and have failed to do all. If anyone knows How to fix it please help. Thank you in advance.

    IT WORKED FOR ME!!
Maybe i solved it. It is damn easy though. Remember the pangu or whichever app you have installed to jailbreak your phone before you got cydia. Yes, just open that app and Start the jailbreak again. Voila, done!

Cydia (and all other related apps; pphelper, pdanet…) can no longer be activated. By that I mean it appears to load snapping to full screen but then disappears immediately to background, minimized behind the spring board. It responds similarly if tapped from there to flash to full screen then back to the rear. All I can do is close it at this point. Cannot search or take any action in this condition as they will not come to full screen. Cannot install Eraser or Impactor as Cydia not responding. Looking for suggestions how to redo the jail break if that may cure this problem – or other solution. SE iphone on ios 9.3.3 backed up to icloud and itunes prior to all this happening but unsure way to proceed (Cydia and pdanet did work for a couple days then this set in.) Don’t know if related but Safari lately has been less responsive getting “unable to locate server” errors when attempting to open some web sites or links from emails. No embedded photos in links display as well. Frustrated!

I was trying to install cydia 10.0.2. I had tried it for more than once. I follow all the steps but after completion all steps, my iPhone power off, rebooted and no cydia install. Anybody give a healthy solution about that?
